Tohatsu Opens New R&D Facility

On September 3, 2018, Tohatsu Corporation completed the construction of its new Research and Development facility to further advance their marine and fire security companies.

Manufacturing the very first Japanese outboard in 1956, Tohatsu has changed 2 Stroke 15hp Outboard Motor with enhanced technologies, therefore improving environmental performance. Besides generating outboards, Tohatsu Corporation retains over 50 percent share in the national market for portable fire pumps.

With over 78,000 sq feet Tohatsu's new R&D Center is intended to accommodate both outboards and portable fire pumps. Equipped with large capacity water tanks for steady performance testing, thermostatic chambers for checking operational status under exceptionally low or high temperatures, and using a vast assortment of state of the art testing equipment, Tohatsu Corporation intends on using the R&D Center to quickly develop new technologies and offer products which cater to the future demands of both the national and global markets.
